"Fort Bowie" was an extensive Set built for the Burt Kennedy Western "The Deserter" on the Ochotorena plateau.
The Fort was already let go to ruin when Ferdinando Baldi filmed some remarkable scenes of his Spaghetti Western "Blindman" in the old "Deserter" Set.
The old glory of "Fort Bowie" came back when the whole Set was refurbished for "A reason to live, a reason to die".
After this last Bang the period of service was finished for "Fort Bowie".

The prison building was built up for this movie.
But in contrast to the old and renovated solid "Fort Bowie" buildings the prison only consist of a facade and a few props of
wood.

Many other movies filmed scenes on the plateau.
For "Adios Sabata" they built a big wood bridge near the Fort area.
