Director Andre de Toth (2nd.Unit Slut for David Lean / "Lawrence of Arabia") has a few
interesting anecdotes bout the "Lawrence" production and the funny connection to his later movie
"Play Dirty" in his book "Fragments". During the "Lawrence of Arabia" production several camels canceled "Lawrence" and dissappeared in the desert...to become film stars in other productions. De Toth in his book:"..and even a professional liar wouldn't swear that the camels weren't descendants of Lawrence of Arabias fugitives, which of course they were. Otherwise, there would be no camels in the film, we couldn't have afforded them."

2004 konnte man noch die Teichfolie sehen, mit der man hier zumindest vorübergehend eine
Wasserstelle (Oase) erhalten konnte.
Zahlreiche Filme und TV Produktionen entstanden unmittelbar in der Oase oder ihrer direkten
